NGC2359 - Thor's Helmet

I am going to put this image in here, because I do not feel that it is reasonable enough to put in the deep space section.

This is 6 hours of Hydrogen Alpha (12nm) and 40 minutes of RGB data.

Cheers
Sam

Hi Sam,

Looks good to me, you might want a little more colour saturation.
Tracking looks good and so do the stars.

Cheers,

Justin.

Cheers Justin,

I actually dropped the colour saturation on the stars as they were all coming through a little too red...

Yes, I think you are being hard on yourself - that looks good to me too. It's a tough object to image, I have found.

Hi Sam,
I should have said more saturation in the nebula.
Hope you don't mind but a had a play around with your image using photo shop. I increased colour saturation and contrast to make it stand out a little more.
It's a bit difficult to do with a small jpg but it has worked.

Cheers,
Justin.

Ahh understand Justin.

I just turned the observatory computer off, as I was remotely connected at work, so I do not have the full image with me now. I'll go home and increase the saturation on the higher quality one and see how we go

Nice work Sam

I think you have done well with this image.

As others have mentioned this can be a tricky DSO to image.
