My first lunar images

Seeing the Moon was ripe the other night, killing any chance of DSO work, I decided to heck with it and tried my first ever Lunar imaging.

Setup was FAR from ideal - OSC CCD at prime focus. Exposures were 0.002 seconds each. Stacked about 120 of them in Registax, and am fairly pleased with the results, though my focus could be sharper Still, not too bad considering it is prime, not afocal

Saturn next, though at prime, not going to look much chop

Good shot for a first and at prime focus.

I bet it won't be your last lunar image!

Cheers,

Eric

That's fantastic for a first shot.

Once you take one you will not be able to stop taking more!
