NexImage and PST

Hello all,

Im new to the solar side of photography. I was wondering if anyone has photographed the sun through a PST with a neximage? I have seen photos floating around on the net with people been able to do it, but no such luck on finding information on what settings to use in AmCap... i have had a fiddle with settings, but still cant quite get the knack...

Thanks in advance

Carly

Carly,
I'm not familiar with the Neximage camera, but any single frame camera (ie OSC, DSLR etc) are limited by the minimum exposures and the ability to stack ( to smooth out the seeing - that's where webcams, DMK etc come into their own)
You may want to use a variable ND filter to see if you can get better exposures??

It is possible but as Ken said it's not the ideal way to go about it. I started off using a dslr but quickly became frustrated and now have a DMK but until then why not try and get the best out of the neximiage, you will learn a lot more about the whole process and your equipment if you can suss it out.

There are some settings mentioned in this CN thread if it helps.
