Astronomy in Auckland?

Hi all!!

I'm heading over to Auckland for an Oil & Gas Conference this weekend and I was wondering what there might be to do astronomy wise on Sunday morning/early afternoon. Is there an observatory and if so how close to the city is it? Anything else that might be interesting?

The is the Stardome Auckland Observatory in One Tree Hill.

Not sure if it's open on Sundays during daylight hours.
