"Polar Helm" replacement for standard Skywatcher altitude bolts

Noticed this while digging around on the EQ6 users group:

English translation at the bottom of the page if your Italian is no good. Basically a geared altitude replacement. Bit on the expensive side of course, but looks nice and functional.

Interesting design. I changed mine out for some indexing levers and also replaced the grub screws that load the axis with thumb screws.

Please translate engineering into science talk please Peter? I gather an index lever has a handle with internal clutch/ratchet arrangement?
