This shot was taken last weekend (Friday) at the Bendleby Ranges in the Southern Flinders Ranges. I was using a modded Canon 400D with a 200mm f2.8 lens on a HEQ5 mount and a Synguider auto-guider. The sky was reasonably dark but the temperature didn't drop down much past 18C all evening.

Yes, the colours just leaped out of this one.
Some time you just cant seem to get any colour out of a shot.
I took a shot of the LMC before this one and I can't seem to get much colou out of it.
That's a great shot with vibrant colors. I think your saturation settings posterized the blue channel a bit. Back down the histogram and you might be able to fix it and dig some more details too.
