HF39 planetary in Carina

Hi all
First chance to do imaging in months tonight. Went for HF39, next to the Eta carina neb. Bright little planetary.
11x10 mins ISO400. Modded 350D and LPS filter with MPCC coma Corrector. 10 inch f5.6 newtonian. Hand guided as usual.

Best seeing Ive seen in a long time, stars didnt twinkle at all and guidestar was nice and stable. 2nd pic is a full res. crop.

The cat kindly kept my lap warm by curling up on it
Scott

That's a beauty Scott...and welcome back, good to see your hand guided work again, where you been at?

Obscure planetary nebulae are back!

Good seeing in Newcastle?? ...I never saw it in New Lambton in the 16 months I was imaging from there however... I am out now in Wallaroo imaging a galaxy pair with the AG12 and the seeing is quite good

Thanks Mike
It is rare to get good seeing in Newcastle. Normally stars down low twinkle but not last night. Sky wasn't very dark but seeing was great. Would have been good for planetary imaging. Last nights imaging session was a good way to recover from my Half Marathon run on Sunday last :-)
Cheers. Scott.

That's a great little planetary. Yes the transparency and seeing conditions from Coonabarabran last night were excellent.

Really interesting planetary Scott!

Good job too, unusual to be red.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thumbs up for obscure planetaries. Great image of an unusual little devil.
