I thought the same thing RB, but with a twist. How nuts do you have to be to go out in it in the first place, I mean its below 0 C !!!! that deseves a vote just for bravery, apart from the nice ice crystal pattern..... cant wait for my turn, that cold less noise in the camera Wonder what it would have looked like with a red light on it?

It's a feather Mike.
I'd have photographed the whole thing but the cat was helping set up the shot and chewed up the lower half. She nearly ended up as spattering of natural pattern down the steps.

Hey Leon
Everyone is out busy snapping, hence the lack of activity here.

But its early days and we are all waiting to see what Mike will post.

Towards the end of the month - it will be a hub of activity.

Cheers Petra

Marvellous RB, great shot!

I've taken a few test shots, still trying to think of some other things that fit the subject.

Elizabeth,
Your moss looks like an oasis in the middle of the desert. Well done.

Hope you guys don't mind but my daughter (astro girl) wanted to enter the competition this month. She's been looking around the house and outside to find patterns and came up with this rock.
She took the photo by her self, I just put the camera on auto and also uploaded it for her.

Thanks guys.

EDIT Thx jjj, I must have posted the same time.

Astro Girl's photo has more than just moss in it. There are patterns in the lichen (a symbiotic realtionship between algae and fungus) and within the moss there appear to be liverworts. All displaying patterns.

Once you start looking there are heaps of patterns within nature! I am up to 12 different patterns with the prospect of heaps more ... it's going to be tough to figure out which one to submit.

Peter.
