I pulled apart a 7 x 50 finderscope yesterday (paint is chipping, have to repaint, but I kinda like the natural metal look after stripping it
). Cleaned the glass while at it - there was a good layer of spores on the rear side of the objective that was NOT visible until you took it off and actually started wiping it. Chinese mold spores probably

Wife and I finished the bi-annual house demold yesterday - venetians, doors etc. She used disinfectant for hers, I used vinegar mixed with bleach. We noted who did which venetian, and will compare later for regrowth. Willing to bet mine remains mold free longer.
