Time for it's 2 yearly bath..

Darned QLD. Everything gets mold on it eventually...Except first surface mirrors for some reason.

SCT correctors have to be pulled at LEAST every 2 years, & my C11 is no exception.

This was done yesterday BTW & it's back in & collimated

I pulled apart a 7 x 50 finderscope yesterday (paint is chipping, have to repaint, but I kinda like the natural metal look after stripping it ). Cleaned the glass while at it - there was a good layer of spores on the rear side of the objective that was NOT visible until you took it off and actually started wiping it. Chinese mold spores probably Ahhh CHOO (pun intended)

Wife and I finished the bi-annual house demold yesterday - venetians, doors etc. She used disinfectant for hers, I used vinegar mixed with bleach. We noted who did which venetian, and will compare later for regrowth. Willing to bet mine remains mold free longer.
