Three White Light Sunspots – Brisbane 17th March 2013

Here are 3 of the active regions visible on the Sun today as imaged from Brisbane. The seeing was quite variable so I missed out on the other 2 major regions. The "near-the-limb" shot shows how the seeing was rapidly falling off towards the end of the session.
  • Tak Mewlon 180 F12 with Tak x1.6 Extender
  • Baader Astro Solar Film (3.8 for astro photography)
  • DMK31AF04AS

Cheers

Dennis

Brilliant WL work Dennis! I particularly like the 'fading off' towards the limb on the last one. Creates a nice 3D effect.

Yes amazing as usual and like the limb darkening in the last image. Granulation is very hypnotising.
