After all this rain and cloud, the heavens cleared yesterday and......... last night I had a meeting
......... but tonight, I could go comet hunting!
Saw them both over the Sydney skyline! Panstarrs faint but visible in the brightly lit sky. A lot further west than I had expected - nearly missed it, behind a hill, until I moved a few hundred metres across the golf couse. When it disappeared into low cloud (!), then scanned until I found Lemmon in the binos. Very happy!
Had a squizz at Jupiter, Pleiades, Orion neb, Carina neb, Jewel Box, the pathway from Corvus to the Sombrero (couldn't make it out). Near the ocean so had a stiff breeze to contend with, otherwise, lovely
