Canon Kiss X-5

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had experience with astrophotography using the above mentioned camera? I want to use it without a telescope to take long exposure shots of the sky.

Here is a link to it.

I haven't used on but here's Gary Honis's take on it....he likes it. Main thing is low noise Digic4 processing. All these canons work well for price. So do the Nikon's.

The Kiss range and KissTi, Xsi, T5 are camera variant ranges sold OS (USA and Asia generally) not generally generic to Australia, thus they are grey imports.

This doesn't mean the camera won't work, they will work very well and the seller, Techrific has a reasonable reputation and even has a sales rep in the whirlpool forums to answer questions of fix problems.

Cannot ask for more than that. IMHO...it's a good buy. But just to throw the cat amongst the pigeons have a look here (staticice) for 600D pricing.

Maybe ask yourself do you really need a lens if it's going on to a scope and you can buy a body for $359 from same place. Yes...... I know you said you want a lens to do long exposure shots......but in all honesty the basic lenses provided with these cameras are bordering on "not so good" to "poor". Better to get a body only and buy a better lens! Given this costs more but is much better than stock lens.

Happy shopping!
