Hi guys, I didn't know where to put this so I put it here
Cloud and rain has allowed me to go back and find some images of M31 that I took in a dark sky on the way up to Cairns for last year's eclipse. They were the best I've been able to take so far.
Seeing rain drops on my car wind screen, of late, reminded me of the stars you can see in images of deep sky objects, that is, they are in the foreground and are not part of the object you are looking at. That fact may not be apparent to the casual observer, so I thought I'd make a little video using my images.

I used the program "StarTools" to make the starless Andromeda Galaxy image.
Cheers,
Tom
