Hi Brent,

Just a fact of life. The spot on the video is so well synchronized with the camera scan that I suspect it to be related to lens flare.

On a different note: It would be interesting as to where the meteor may have struck if it remained intact. Would it be possible to calculate?

Cheers

Ya got ya tinfoil hat ..? Sweet !!

Yeah, I took a look at the shots and could see debris trails and reflective flares from the meteor. At 46,000mph incoming anything could look like a flying saucer.
Just got to wait now for the next Doomsday prophecy ...

And in case it hasn't been reported anywhere else another largish noisy meteor was reported coming over NZ a few days ago. SW to N way down in the Sth Island. Only a few people reported anything and no video. Must have been reasonably large and terminated somewhere over the sth pacific if it got down at all.

... and there are a couple of marks on the windscreen.

I watched the video carefully and couldn't see anything UFO-ish anywhere (not that I'm sure I'd know what a real UFO looked like).

I read something today that migh apply to that website link, along the lines; 'Scientists discovered the universe is made of protons, neutrons and electrons. They forgot the morons'.

Bah!

That's a bit weak as far as conspiracy theories go.

Definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel with that one.
