Sucker Holes.

After not being able to image the sun for a week, I persisted with sucker holes today. It took 4 hours and three set ups, one with everything getting a tad wet. All of the data was imaged through thin high cloud which was disappointing as it killed a lot of detail especially on the proms. All images are around a total of 500 frame due to conditions.
AR1678 was in full flight and I recon I missed some good flare activity.

Special images there Ralph.
That activity centered in the first image has made the news as it's getting more so, active that is.
Thanks for showing really good to look at.

G'day Ralph, which of your three set ups caught that first photo - it's astounding!

I saw a beautiful NASA YouTube video of the sun (http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HFT7ATLQQx8) recently and noticed a handful of comments from people who were surprised that NASA could get amazing shots like that. Turns out it's not just NASA taking those wonderful images!

Sorry mate,
The three set ups is the number of time I had to set up and tear down my gear because of rain showers.
AR1678 was imaged with Vixen 130ss and 90mm Solarmax with a DMK51/ 3X Barlow

A great collection of images there - well worth the efforts. Is all the equipment OK?

Thanks Derek,
It didnt seem that way at the time though.
I wish I could have captured 1500/2000 frames a piece it would have made a big difference.

Yes thanks Matt.
I have it down pat pretty well. In fact I can have it down in about the same time as it takes to close and lock the roll off roof observatory in Bundy. A couple old oil skins also help.
