Gassendi 6 February

Hi there,

Here is a picture of Gassendi and Mare Humorum taken with the ASI 120MM.

I am still struggling with gain and lack of definition a bit, but overall I find the photo pleasing with good detail in Gassendi.

Seeing 2.5/5

Captured in SharpCap, stacked in Avistack 2, processed in Astra Image and GIMP.

Here are the specs from the SharpCap log:

Resolution=1280x960
Frame Rate (fps)=Infinity
Compression=MONO8
Exposure=-6
Brightness=10
Gamma=50
Gain=18

Thank you for your attention.

Eric

Thank Laurie and Graeme!

I still haven't quite got the hang of the ASI120 settings when it come to the Moon and need to experiment with exposure, gain and resolution. it behaves quite differently from the DMK41 which has a much slower frame rate.

Greame, I am constantly modifying my capture settings depending on which part of the Moon I tackle, depending on object brightness. I don't deal with objects in the Terminator in the same way I deal with objects outside of the Terminator. In my photo, Mare Humorum was quite bright and I had to somewhat conpensate for it. Plus the AVI was capture in near daylight, which made it tricker.

I will take more photos weather permitting. I hope you get your camera soon.

Eric
