First Horsehead Nebula

Hi All,

Had to share my first horsehead nebula.
Taken with a unmodded 7D, through the 80mm refractor.

49x3minute subs.

Thanks guys...

Tim how did you go with the "horse play"?

I need to find a few hours to mod my 300D. I have the glass ready for replacing just need the time. Surely I should get a lot brighter image after so much time of photon gathering.

Hi Mariusz,

Nice work.
I'm curious to see your results when you end up modding the 7D.
I'm considering buying an 80 or 100 ED to combine with my modded 400D (no glass - just IR filter removed)

I've just thrown a photo up of the horse taken with the 400D...although it was only 6 1/2 mins total exposure time I was working with 10".
What iso where your subs taken at?

Hi Ryan,

I shot at ISO500.
Your 6.5 minute HH looks great, better then my 2.5hr job... Hopefully my dim blurry was a result of shooting on a 80mm aperture scope and a unmodded cam.
