Talking My first foray into Astrophotography(Phonephotography). ..

Was with a mobile phone...

All images are taken on a phone through an eyepiece. No stacking, no processing of any kind. Just single frame shots. Hope you like .

Excellent nice work! It won't be long (maybe its too late already)before you start thinking of attaching a DSLR, Webcam or CCD to your scope. This is exactly how I started

Fantastic, especially given the 'camera' you used. Gotta be happy with that

Hey those are good

Did you hand hold or use the gizmo?

I have never had much luck myself trying to hand hold my phone over an eyepiece

Maybe I am not patient enough

Ah yeah sorry for the late reply. I took the photos with a HTC Sensation XL. I use the Orion universal phone mount adapter. It hangs off the eyepiece and allows you to align the phone camera lens with the exit pupil of the eyepiece. The eyepiece I used was the 14mm ES 82.

Astrophonography I like it

With a name like that the phone it destined to take great shots

I also like the term "phonograph" (astro or otherwise). Very apt and iconoclastic at the same time.

Oh, and great shots! I've tried to do this myself before (hand-held), without any presentable result.

Cheers
Steffen.
