Orion Area

Here's 7 panels I did a while ago while testing the hyperstar collimation. Shot in the vicinity of M42. This mosaic consists of 7 panels, each stacks of 10x30s. I obviously missed one. I honestly can't remember if it's Ha or straight Lum. I suspect Lum given the number of stars. I used the QHY9 mono.

Finally got around doing a bit of processing so I should be able to post the Eridanus loop I shot from Coona in November. It's been a while. Thanks for looking.

Great image Marc! Another seamlessly stitched mosaic - you are fast becoming the mosaic guru! I don't recall seeing the faint nebulosity to this extent; fascinating to see M42 in this larger context and makes one realise that there is a lot more to the Orion Molecular Complex than just the bright showcase regions.

This is a fantastic effort Marc - really draws you in. Hope you get the last panel. Heck I hate Dec/Jan Qld weather. Just once I'd like free rein to look at Orion properly

Thanks Rob. I can imagine it has been pretty hectic in QLD. Weather's been far too hot and uncertain here in Sydney to do anything productive as well.

Thanks Ross. Eridanus is a bit of a disaster actually. I didn't get enough signal even with coona dark skies and all the data I collected so it's proving a challenge to process and stretch.
