Animation try out Jupiter 26May.

Hi All,

OKay here is my first attempt a a jupiter rotation, using different programs from registax to align the frames, ppmcentre to centre the BMPs, paint shop pro to straighten jupiter, because I moved the mount, it tilted slightly. Also used animation shop 3 to do the GIF.

Gain ~30%
Exposure 1/25
Gamma 50%
Brightness 50%
10FPS
30 second AVI'
Seeing 4/10
9 frame Animation.

Telescope: TAL-1,Homemade barlow ~4x. Phillips ToUcam ProII.

Cloud moved in so cut the session short.

Oh no!!!!!!! Don't do it Andrew If you get bitten by the animation bug that will be the end of your sleeping at nights!!!!

Nice shots mate, there is a great deal of satisfaction to be had in putting together a smoothly flowing animation. But be careful, it can become very addictive trying to get that perfect animation.

Cheers, keep it together and keep up the good work.

Thanks Paul and Mike for the comments, this was only a test to see if I could do it. Tell ya what it's bloody hard doing it without the planet being tracked.

Still loads of fun trying it and it gets me out of the house.

Andrew for aligning the images, if you can get hold of ImagesPlus it has a fantastic planetary alignment function.
