ASA 2" 0.73x Keller Corrector

I really don't like my chances but, it doesn't hurt to try....

If anyone has one of these that they aren't using much, or don't use at all and wants to be a really cool and froody guy, I'm looking to buy!

Cheers,
Simon

Cheers Clive.
I'm not an Astromart member, read too many stories, so can't see any details but might try registering.

Cheers again.

Here's the details:

For Sale: Boren-Simon .73 Reducer / Corrector

Ad No.: 807511
Seller: Ralph Ford (30)
Price: $950.00
S & H: Buyer pays shipping
Payment: PayPal, Money Orders, Cash

Ad Hits: 349

Similar to the ASA .73 reducer / corrector, which sells for about $1050. An F/4 Newtonian becomes F/2.8. Requires 65mm of back focus, which with my Canon XSi required 11mm of spacer rings which I will include. You would have to provide the proper T-ring for your camera. Great results with only 10 minutes of exposure. Photos on request.

regards,
~c

Oh, thanks heaps for that!
I have received a PM for a possible source for an unused one, also overseas and roughly the same price, but if that lead goes cold I will then follow this one, many thanks again.

I am however still interested in finding one locally(Aus/NZ) if anyone is willing to sell.
Cheers
Simon

fwiw) You can buy one new from APM for around $1k shipped.
The prices listed include 19% VAT (which you don't pay)

Simon, make sure this will do what you need it to. It only has a 20mm corrected image circle.
Sounds a bit small for the 27mm diagonal on a 60Da?

The 3" version might better suit your requirements... it will probably cost you close to $1400 landed though.

Thanks, I did quickly look at APM but thought they might not send here as ASA supposedly has an Aussie dealer

Cheers guys.
It is something I had thought long about, and had decided to go with the compromise. The ASA datasheet shows that the FOV can be extended a little by de-focusing the centre. Yeah, not ideal.
I have been looking at images taken with the Boren-Simon PowerNewts which use the same corrector and they're not too shabby, so thought I would take the gamble.
There is also the possibility of going with an 8300 chipped mono cam in future so...

The 3" is, as Clive points out, is ~$400 more, plus I would have to upgrade my focuser, another $400 at least. Besides, maybe I'm reading it wrong but the spot diagrams for the 2" look slightly better?

Simon, also consider that if your CCD is larger than your corrected field, you will actually be better off using a 1x corrector and then binning for sensitivity.
