Can you stack the un-stackable?

Not sure if this question has been asked before, but is there a way to determine why some subs are rejected (other than manually looking at each sub)?
I collected a bit of data on NGC 4945 but the best I managed to get is stacking 80 of 160 subs
I know I was probably over-enthusiastic and took a few subs when the seeing wasn't right and a few had to be refocused as the temp dropped.
But I was surprised with 50% subs rejection rate.
Is there a way to increase the stack size (I changed the stacking parameters and used 65% - 90% best range but they didn't make much differece).

which program Bo, pretty sure you will have it in a setting somewhere. I know you can force it DSS, select 100% of images to stack. might fail if it has streaks through it etc.

Thanks Russell,
I was using Images Plus. Might give DSS a go and see if I can increase the stack size.

I have been using DSS to register my subs and I go on the star count to work out which subs I should delete.

I did come across this (free?) program from the SGP authors, called a FITS Image Grader. Never tried it but it looks OK from the product description.

Thanks Bill,
I don't have my CCD anymore, so just imaging on a DSLR, but this program looks promising when I get my mono CCD.
