QHY-9 Filter wheel will not rotate.

Hi,

I have been very impressed with the QHY-9 mono but the last time I used it I noticed the light did not change when it was suppose to be changing filters. I have been on holidays for 2 months and had another go today before hopefully imaging tonight. No go. The filter wheel is given an instruction from the program (I use EZYCAP came with the camera) and no rotation or colour light change. I have sent a request to Theo but wonder if someone hase had this occur and can offer me a solution. Have reloaded program.

Thanks

Mark

I'm guessing you use the cable that controls the wheel via the camera, they break a lot.

Get the wheel calibration software from the qhy download page, connect to the wheel with the 9 pin serial cable via a serial port. In the software you downloaded is an app to change filters. Simply select the correct com port and click on a filter number to make the wheel move. If that works the wheel works.

Like Robin said - try the calibration trick first. Don't forget - check power and cables (swap if possible). Also don't be afraid to open it up. Mine had a loose filter that jammed it up. Easy fixed. The casing spacing is also quite tight and things do go wrong. Have at it mate.
Cheers
Stephen
