In the local rag..(News Mail) 12th Jan. 2013

Well, I like remaining somewhat obscure (I'm a loner when it comes to being under the stars) but this certainly won't hurt the art of planet imaging & astronomy in general I don't think. I want more people looking UP! And look up they will by the time I've finished with Bundaberg QLD lol!

It's a crop by the News Mail to fit the pic in yes. A shame they did this but obviously out of my control.

Well done on making the paper.

I wondered why you didn't provide a link. I can't quite read the text in your photo. I have just been surfing the net looking for the electronic version of this paper and can't find it.

Should add guys, that even though they cocked the article up a tad (which was EXPECTED, right??) It's still good exposure for the hobby. I'm looking at the big picture

Congratulations

Hi John,

Fantastic stuff. With your large color digital photos and the double page spread,
it is the most eye-catching article I have ever seen in a local paper showcasing
amateur astronomy.

Doug Gillett and the Bundaberg News have done a sterling job.

This type of thing definitely gets people excited.
A fabulous uplifting "good news" article.

However, I did note that not all the news is entirely good up your way (see below) -

The article will probably be online next week - it's apparently a popular regional topic: NewsMail results for search on "stargazing"

Heckuva meteor shower you had up that way last month! Nicola cleans up with meteor shower

Wow - a double page spread! That's one for the wall of the pool room. It's onward and upwards from here.

Congratulations John, you famous person! Just wait until the paparazzi start appearing on your door step. LOL!

What a great double page spread highlighting the quiet achievements of a dedicated amateur astronomer – top stuff!

Cheers

Dennis
