Orion Nebula

A photo I took of the Orion Nebula (pipgy-backed)....the gear I use is pretty shabby..an over-used nikon d40 (a working camera), really bad wobbly lense...I use tape to keep the focus as focused as I can as its loose and moves by itself...

I also took pics through my scope.....which show the nebula a lot closer, but obviously more out of focus....

I was surprised however, with the lack of star trailing...so I must be getting closer to better alignment.

I tried to take some pics of jupiter with its moons....but the planet came out just like a light bulb with no apparent colour or bands.....

That's a pretty good image, Andrew! Particularly considering what you took it with!
