03-01-13 Jupiter and Ganymede - FSQ106

Probably hitting the limits of what I can get with this 4" refractor on planets, but tonight was pretty clear here in Canberra so here's another image

GRS can easily be seen, processing is a bit crap - I'm still trying to figure out how to do it lol

Details

Optics: FSQ106EDX with 5x Powermate ~F/25
Capture: ASI120MM with Astronomic LRGB type 2c, ~65sec capture each channel @64-75 fps
Process: Registax and Gimp (LRGB combine via layers)

Reprocess of data to fix red channel, think I stuffed up the last image in the red layer.

Enhanced a little to bring out as much detail as possible, though nothing compared to the detail you guys post from your light buckets!

Wow! I can't post my initial reaction on a civilized forum but that is amazing. I'm embarrassed by my efforts with an 8" now.

Great job again, Chris! I started planet imaging with a 6" Achro refractor, & this image is easily equal to the best of mine with the 6" scope I'd say!
