C/2012 F6 Lemmon, C/2011 K5 LINEAR plus animation.

Hi,

Here's some more comet images plus animation of C/2011 K5 LINEAR, for 3/1/2013.

First C/2011 K5 LINEAR animation, this comet is really moving and I was limited to 30 sec exposures at ISO 3200 to stop trailing. I decided to supply an animation, 31 sec run time, real time 18 minutes that includes timing intervals. I also used registax to stack on the comet, for a single image.

In that time it moved 3.8 arc minutes.

Animation. http://s1172.photobucket.com/albums/...rent=comet.mp4

C/2012 F6 Lemmon is a colourful comet, really putting on quite performance.

Again here's the link to Michael Mattiazzo's comet page for further info.

8" f/4 astrograph, orion mini guider, HEQ Pro 5 mount.

Unmodded canon 1100D baader coma corrector.

2 minute subs at iso 800, total 12 minutes, Median stack in DSS, processed in PS 7. For Comet Lemmon only.

Cheers,

Justin.

Great shots Justin.

How do you stack on the comet instead of stars in DSS?
