Tubes

Any suggestions of where to get a GOOD quality OT - either alu or CF to suit an R200SS 8" astrograph?

It's already been modified, so thinking of making it my first customised / ATM project - all the good stuff is there, just thinking to give it a CF tube.

Thanks.

Just for anyone interested, Klaus works with Teleskop-Service / Express to custom make CF tubes etc. His total, including UPS postage for a custom R200SS tube in CF came to just over 460 Euro, which seems very reasonable to me.

The guy in America didn't want to do it, saying to expensive to tool up etc.

Hi Lewis,

What were the dimensions of the tube you'd ordered?

Thanks
Alistair

Stock-standard R200SS, including all holes etc. Only difference is the tube wall thickness is 2.5mm on the CF tubes, which will still be fine for the R20SS (though MAY need new front plate and mirror plate screws - not sure yet).

Turn around is supposedly 3 weeks, so another 2 to go

Hi Lewis,

I'm not familiar with the R200SS dimensions,
I just wanted to get an idea of what the size was for the price.

Thanks

Oh, OK - it's 229mm ID to the tube, and a little under 700mm long.
