waxy gibbon

The title is inspired by the little chat I had to have with the daycare staff when my three year old was accused of calling another child a 'wanking peasant', when she was, in fact, describing the lunar phase to the other child. Now it's a waxy gibbon.
Anyway - 9 panels, 1000 frames per panel using a dbk41, 2.5x powermate and a FSQ106ED. Processed in autostakkert, pixinsight and photoshop.

Thanks for looking, and crappy Histmas to all!
cheers,
Andrew.

Very sharp moon. Do you have to change focus from one panel to others? Thanks

No focus change, but seeing permitted more iterations of deconvolution on some panels, which is why there's some variation.
The tak will hold focus for at least 30 minutes at a time, and I've got temperature compensation enabled on the robofocus.
Cheers,
Andrew.

A very nice pic.Obviously the daycare centre is in need of Astro outreach starting with the adults. And of course in a politically correct way.
This made me laugh for years my son referred to Grasshoppers as assgropers.
Merry Xmas.

Thanks all - yes there were red faces all round, and I made them apologise to my little girl (who has her own 4" unitron photo-equatorial already).
cheers, and happy xmas again from a decidedly uncomfortably hot Perth.

Nice sharp Moon shot Andrew.

Don't you love it when words are lost in translation on young ears. Sometimes it can work in your favour. We have just got our eldest to the end of his Prep year without knowing any foul language. Two weeks before school ended he asked us what the 'F word' meant.

We asked him what he thought it meant and he said that one of his class mates taught him the word. The good news is that his friend got it wrong. I have forgot what he thought it was but it wasn't even close.
