Locating a Watec WAT-902H2 or similar for Allskycamera

Hello All,

Just throwing out some feelers to see what is available and where to go to find one. I am trying to locate a watec wat902h2 camera so I can setup an all sky (or close to) camera, for meteor observing mainly, something I have been wanting to do for ages. Is there some place in Australia that has them, are there any available second hand? I am also trying to find a suitable Lens, I have heard of Computar lenses being used quite often, but really have no idea where to find one with a low F/stop.

Or is there something else out there equally suitable.. I saw this website... http://jimstar11.com/AllSkyDesign.html which looked interesting, but not keen on the price they sell for. I was trying to do something around the $300 mark or so.

If you have ideas please let me know, I wont be making any firm decisions until after Feb next year..

You can get the WAT902H on eBay from time to time. It's almost as good. CR Kennedy are also very helpful for lenses, but you will have a very hard time to find a good Computar these days.

This is also a good guide:

and the english forum too

Thanks Guys, yeah I might go the Watec 902h first so if there is anyone with one that is thinking of upgrading in the near future, let me know. Would prefer to get one with a lens already on it, but I might be able to find one somewhere on the WWW....

One point of interest/attention - there are 2 types of lens iris control - video and DC - the WAT 902H is the video type, so if you buy a DC lens, you'll need an adapter.
