Tamiya McLaren MP4/4 Update

Been working on Senna's McLaren from the 1988 season.

Here are some photos of where I am up to.

Still need to touch up some paint on a few parts and apply the decals to the body. Excuse the white parts (think they are air intakes for the turbos) that are connected to the turbos, white paint is the worst paint to use, it just does not stick and comes out really bad no matter what.

Wow, there's some great detail in that model. All quite accurate by the look of it. Yep, the white bits are the air intakes. Would love to see more progress shots.

Thanks . Will be posting more photos as I complete more of the model. It's pretty detailed for a stock kit. The aftermarket detailing kit which costs around $150 (5 times more than what the model is worth) looks CRAZY.

An update on the progress so far.

Applied a white coat to the body and did not go well at all! White paint is the worst colour and hardest to apply due to pigments in it. I had to sand down the body again to get rid of the white paint. I will be priming and applying some white spray paint I got from bunnings tomorrow.

I also purchased the Cockpit detail kit as well as an antenna, supporting rods and a rear axle off ebay. Waiting for it to come in the mail, hopefully it comes in today! I will post some photos of the kit.

I am also working on upgrading some old terrains I did with some new grass I bought and making another terrain from scratch.

Here is an image of the stuff I am working on.
