Funny story (a little OT) about when I was in Tennant creek (more than once....)
Walking down the supermarket isle I spied something long/big & frozen sticking out of the big freezer chests.
I thought they were eel's! I went back and had a squizz...they were frozen Kangaroo tails! Yum!
The was a squash court come restaurant called the "Dolly Pot". We arrived there didn't expect much but the food was most excellent. I was talking to the waitress about the rain that had just started (the WET) and she replied "I just want to tear my clothes off and run outside naked"...
My family was with me so I said I couldn't join her in this romp!
Anyway I didn't think the DSO went any further south than Katherine?
Yes a few of us from Darwin are planning it , weather permitting ? It will be torwards the end of the wet season so fingers crossed .
