That is a very good two minute summary of a thesis. It's very difficult to summarise something that you work on full time and know in intimate detail in just two minutes. I once had to present mine in 5 minutes and it was quite harrowing, but also very rewarding to have to cut to the chase so quickly. I think it was the clearest talk I ever gave (after all I could ignore anything that muddied the waters). The uni now runs a 'two minute thesis' competition annually and it attracts a lot of interest. I think topics about which the general public has some knowledge are at an advantage. One of our archaeology students went quite well whereas a friend who presented on the transport of organic carbon from catchment to ocean had to spend too long just setting the question and why it is important.
