Here's some lightning images from earlier this evening. It rumbled for about an hour and there's been many strikes causing grass fires across a wide area.
Great images Justin-well done, did you use lightning trigger?
That one I gave the link too in other thread, might not be the best.I had
a look around, there is a chap on IIS that makes them-much better quality
and made in Australia. They might suit you better.I am looking at getting one soon.
What lens are you using?,I have a 10-22 mm and think it might work for this type of photography.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for that!
I used bulb setting with the laptop, sopped it everytime there was a strike.
The lens is the standard 18 to 75mm kit lens at 24mm.
No probs Justin,I'd say I'll have this trigger within the week, not sure where Martin lives, hope it might get here by Thursday-storms predicted.(if that fails I can always go to Ipswich-they always get a pizzling there)
Just one thing to note this trigger comes with a cable to connect to Canon/Nikon XXXd size bodies,to connected to a XXd size body, you will need to buy this
I think I'll be able to use the gear on my G12 as well,as it has external flash bracket on top.
Saw a tree yesterday, when we were setting dingo traps,it got struck on saturday night, had thin strip zapped right down to base,I'll try and put some images up.
In this case we'll be getting clear sky's for sure! Murpheys Law...
I've been eyeing out those triggers for ages now, will be very interested on your thoughts once you put it to use
Yes Carlos-been eyeing these triggers for a good while too,I kinda glad I held back a bit,its only very recently I got on to the one on the ebay link I purchased-certainly got a good reputation.
I'll do a report and results in time (like you say might be clear skies for a while-'bummer')
I did a few quick grab shots of the tree that got hit on Saturday night, the chap trapping in this paddock took away his trail cameras,as we all heard the bad weather reports-just as well he did-I imagine if the trail camera had have been on this tree it would have be toasted!
(sorry Justin hope these images are not too off topic, from your great images)
Just realised a gave the wrong info for these shots, they were taken in video mode at 25 frames per sec, as they were day time images. The other post intiltled ( More lightning ) was taken using bulb setting.

Hi Chris,
Not off topic, a powerful demonstration of what lightning can do!
Thanks Chris for the kind words about my Lightning triggers. Since the Lightning Season started I have not been able to keep up with demand.. We have even been getting some pretty good storms here in Adelaide (do't get many) also. Getting Lightning shots is really good fun. I love being out in a storm with all the action going on. I think next year I will be a little better setup with stock at this time of year. I hope when I get time to post some of my customers images in my website as some people have been snding me thier results. Pretty rewarding to see them being taken with somthing I have made for them...
