Calm as here in Launceston, I've been in Hobart during some severe weather, the building I was in (on the 7th floor) was swaying noticeably, to the extent that the blinds were rocking side to side inside the double glaze windows, one of my workmates bolted down the stairs and outside muttering something like "I'm not going to ride this to the ground"

I blame yesterday's royal visit. Weather has been disgusting since they arrived.

It was a kicker of a day. I was actually up at my dark sky site getting ready to build...Lightning strikes on the ridges all round me. Figured I'd better stop using that 6 foot crowbar and head for home.... Poured about 5 minutes later.... AMAZING winds!
