Reduced : North Group focuser

For sale : North Group focuser, 2" with 1-1/4" adapter; 10:1 reduction knob for fine focus.
Price 120$ including postage.

This is the focuser that comes as "upgraded" or "photo" version with NG 127mm APOs. It has long travel (80+mm) and can lift quite a bit of weight as unlike other focusers, drive shaft mates with very strong stainless steel plate, not aluminium. The shaft itself is substantial (6mm), seated in real ball bearings at both ends and precision ground. Movements are nice and smooth. On telescope side there are 3 grub screws so it would be easy to adapt it to any scope.

Reason for sale - I bought a large format CCD camera and now need large format field flattener and focuser (3").

[Edit]:
I have been asked about suitability of this focuser for various scopes and have to state that I cannot confirm whether it will be straight fit for any particular scope. The focuser will fit NG127APO, anything else it may need some work.
For the record, inside diameter of the telescope end tube (where 3 grub screws are shown) is 80.0mm

Still available.

Reduced price and more pics

Time for another bump.
And another picture.
Note how drawtube on the right looks damaged. It looks like that because it is damaged by steel bearings having essentially single point contact onto softer aluminium drawtube. And that one is from a well respected Moonlite. You can find more examples on the web about this.
The tube on the left won't suffer from such mishaps. There is a nice, flat and wide section that has been milled out for bearings to maintain full contact at all times even when wick is turned to 11 for very heavy loads.

Make no mistake - this focuser is well designed, very well made and quite a bargain at $150 (including postage)

Last price reduction. If I have to give it away might as well do that to someone in local ATM group. It is no good sitting on the shelf.
