Art Appreciation

Over the last few years I've started collecting art (Australian Artists) especially Australiana scenes, landscape or people (slightly abstract)

I quite like paintings by Max Mannix, Helen Norton also Terry Cousins can anyone point me to others worth a look

Thanks

Sorry, I regularly suffer from art failure.

Hi Trevor,

I'm not much of an art buff but I do like Helen Norton's work.

I was at a Brett Whitely exhibition at the Perth Art Gallery many many years ago. I only went because he did the cover to dIRE sTRAITS Alchemy album. Anyway, I ended up buying a print copy of Whitely's The American Dream. It is amazing. The real painting is 22m long; my copy is 7m long. There is so much to see in it, what an amazing artist!!

Maybe you could check out some of his work?

Cheers,
Dan

No reason why you can't buy a print. My Whitely print of The American Dream cost about $550.

If you are interested in any indigenous art you might like the work of Ross Smith.
He is a friend of mine, I have one of his hand crafted didgeridoos.

You can view 7 of his works on this page.
