OKay got my tube rings and fitted them to my scope, I had to add a little padding to make them fit snuggly, I still have to work out the correct tension to allow the tube to rotate a bit, but it seems to work really well. here are a couple of pics..
Other project on the go right now is a modification to my TAL-1 to allow me to use modern EP's in it. Because it is an older version newer EPs dont work in it. So I cut 25mm off the back end of the scope, I am getting a plug made up the same as the diameter of the mirror housing so I dont have to keep using the mirror housing to make it fit. There is a small bore on the end that allows the housing to fit snuggly, I will do this at work when I get time.
I plan on using the TAL as a guide scope for the 8" when I make up the guide rings (another project)
