Question Autostar scrolling

Hi all,

I recently bought my first "real" scope, a Meade LT6, and am still learning the ropes. Loving the easy setup/alignment and goto. I'm a bit confused about something though. The manual states: "Press the Scroll keys to move through the options. Press and hold a Scroll key to move quickly through the options." ..but whenever I press and hold a scroll key (in any menu or list), nothing happens at all. Scrolling through long lists is a pain, having to press the scroll key so many times. This sounds like it would be great if it worked. Does this work on anyone else's Autostar? (Note: I have the Audiostar version of the handbox, not sure if that makes a difference)

Thanks!
Dean.

Makes a huge difference.
In the Audiostars, Meade "bless em", pinched the autoscrolling function keys and remapped them to rewind/replay the audio track.
Perhaps they thought the audio was more important than being able to move around fast.
I dont know a way around it.

Or as the IT companies happily tell us: It's not a bug - it's a feature!

Bummer. That's was a pretty weird decision, that's a core function. It's just the standard arrow up/down keys after all, and audio only plays on goto anyway. Wonder if it could be hacked/patched?

Anyway, thanks for letting me know. I thought I may have been doing doing it wrong or something!

Cheers,
Dean.

Not true. It plays on select, and can be rewound, skipped etc.

Nope, too hard, as all the relavant code has been "removed"

Almost. They are called "undocumented features". Windows is a classic example.
