Anyone else watching olympics and Jupiter?

I got up to image Jupiter, but clouds have rolled in. Then remembered opening ceremony is about to start, so thought I may as well take a look.

It is on channel 9 in the city, WIN/Imparja for us country folk, but it is also broadcast in hidef on GEM and looks a lot better on that channel.

Anyone else watching?

Hmmm... ads are already making me want to go to bed.
I haven't had a TV for years, I'm not used to them any more.

Could that logo be any bigger in the corner

The coverage is a bit sporadic, but it looks like an extremely difficult 'set' to cover properly, so much going on at once.
Less time on the drummers and more on the scene itself would be nice.
Is there any way to turn the commentary off?

The industrial revolution transformation is impressive.
I hope Dr Who makes an entrance

Did catch the lighting of the flame..well thought out and impressive but that is about the limit of my interest this time. I find that there are an increasing number of whining prima donna's on the Australian team this Olympics whom forget they are in a fortunate position and they just don't appreciate it. Seven showed some footage from the London 1945 games and I think some of the Athletes need to go back and watch footage like this.

I know I am going to cop a lot of You are un- Australian comments but thats my view and I don't apologize for it.

Yep, got up to watch it this morning.

I thought it was very nicely done with history, comedy and the future all rolled into one.

The lighting of the flame was excellent, it must get harder each time for each new country to come up with an original idea.

Cheers

I think they should have a 'top fuel' category for athletes of the likes of Ben Johnson, Flo Jo, et al.

I was at work til 3 am so had to sleep in. I did see the lighting of the cauldron. I hope those little petals all survive the heat for the 2 weeks. Nice concept
