Thumbs up Big Thanks to Paul [1ponders] as he hangs up his moderator hammer :)

It's with sadness that a few weeks ago, Paul [1ponders] decided to hang up his moderator hammer.

Paul had been a moderator on IceInSpace for many many years, and decided that he needed to have a break from it given his reduced time in front of the computer in the past 12 months, and really just to rest

I really want to thank Paul for his dedication and support of IceInSpace over the past 6+ years. He's been a great friend and between him and the other moderators, we've had some amazingly fun times, despite the occasional stress

Being a moderator is a sometimes very stressful job, usually with little thanks or reward, and it takes a special kind of person to commit their time to a community like Paul and the other moderators did and still do - with nothing in it for them except to see the community thrive and be successful.

I really appreciate the job all the moderators do and thank Paul for his support and friendship.

Enjoy your time on the 'outside' and don't forget to use the 'report bad post' button

Knowing something of that "thankless' role as I do, 6 years of service is an outstanding achievement. Well done and good luck.

Thanks Paul,

And Mike, I'd like once again to thump the tub for a female mod. I have no idea who might agree, but it would be a good step I feel.

Cheers

The best moderator is the best 'person' for the job, regardless of gender.

I'm not discounting it, just saying that gender is not a factor in choosing a moderator.

Thanks everyone. It has been a very long time Mike and while I can say its not always been pleasurable, its always a pleasure. Thanks to you Mike, and Phil, John, h0ughy and Andrew. And of course my great mate mojo for sending me things to break.

Cheers guys, a great and fun bunch of guys to work with even when we're serious.

Just a question, as Mike said gender is of no importance, but actually how is a Moderator chosen, i would really like to know.

Dose it have regard to threads, posts, been good, bad, etc, I would be really interested to know, however if this is not for open discussion, so be it.

I'd like to add my thanks to Paul, we shared the trials and tribulations and a lot of laughs on the inside, I must to admit thinking more that once over the past few weeks that the "inside" is now a little empty without that extra voice.

Paul may be out of the inner circle but his bad post report count is already impressive.

Enjoy your retirement Herr Ponders.....
