Happy Anniversary Neil Armstrong

43 years ago (tomorrow 20th July, 1961) Armstrong walked on the moon. Hard to credit where we have come since then, but his was, indeed a giant leap.

Peter,

You are one day out.

The first moon walk took place on July 21st 1969 at around 02:56 UTC,
which was 12:56 AEST.

It happened to be July 20th in the United States, but that's simply
because they are several hours west of Greenwich.

In any case, the walk anniversary will be this coming Saturday,
not tomorrow (Friday).

The 1961 was obviously a typo.

Yes, Happy Birthday Neil
Very sad he's became such a recluse afterwards

It might have been better if Buzz "lightyear" Aldrin was first
He's been a much better ambassador for manned space exploration

But I take nothing away from Armstrong, landing the LM with less than 30secs of fuel

Live Long and Prosper!
