Hi all,

Here is last night's effort... before the heavy frost set in. -5 at least last night!

38 x 5 min images
20 dark frames
25 bias

Scope: 9.25" SCT at f 6.3 on CGEM
Camera: ATIK 320E
Guider: QHY5 through 80mm guiderscope
Processed with AstroArt

Still need to do a PEC recording tonight, so hopefully it will keep improving. The egging is in RA not DEC.

I am having much more fun imaging now that a few of the initial teething problems are getting resolved, but I am still a visual observer at heart!

Looks like some good detail has been captured in the spiral arms. The star shape could be tracking if it is in RA. Maybe mirror shift possibly? Is this noticeable in all sub frames?

I like your comment about being a visual observer at heart as this reflects my sentiments precisely. I find that I must drag out the 12" dob at least once a month and give it a run.
