Well that's the last time I take 35 avis, I've had the laptop processing for nearly 12 hours straight and I haven't even gone to anything tricky like separate colour channel process yet - I'll do that with just the pick of these.
Unfortunately given the size of these sequences I had to drag down the quality setting to get them under 150k so no really as good as the originals.
1st Sequence (at right) of 20 images were taken with the 2.5 powermate and show last part of Io transit and Ganymede approach plus red spot making it's appearance from the limb - one and a half hours worth. All straight process in Registax 3 with a light LR deconvolution in Astra Image 2. Captures were mostly 5 fps, YUY2 codec, gain at around 50% and gamma 40%. Seeing ranged from 5-7/10.
2nd sequence (at left) is the changeover onto the 4x powermate, though I've had to reduce to around 85% full size to fit. Ganymede shadow transit in process and detail on Ganymede in some, picks are probably the far right at top and second from right at bottom. Seeing 7-8/10, the best may have peaked at 8.5/10.
One day I'll have to master animation, but I'm knackered for now.
It's clear right now, Jupiter is riding high and beckoning, should I risk my marriage and go out and do it all again ...???
nah, I'll use the moon as an excuse, it's bound to kill some contrast. Anyway,if I don't get some sleep I'll be all grumpy for the easter bunny on Sunday

Simply put, what a beautiful set of images. I know how you feel. Pick your fights! A wise man would choose to win the "battle" with the Wife, Jupiter can wait for another night. Get some sleep and enjoy easter, we'll look after Jupiter tonight.
You might also mention to your family that what you have achieved with this rotation montage, has not yet been done by NASA, and they should be proud of you!!!
do yourself a favour, bring the 4x images up on screen, walk out of the room, get a drink and come back in and look at what you have accomplished.
I have spent hours pouring over all the images including damian peach, chris go and all of ours, you think i would have got sick of them, but whilst viewing yours, i got distracted by my 2yr old and then on returning to the screen, looked at bottom left image on the 4x's. It struck me then and there what we are all accomplishing..................that is the planet jupiter in all its glory as far as i am concerned as if we are approaching it in a space ship.
Nice to have a look at the big picture of what is being accomplished and not just concentrating on detail around a white oval etc.

now, i have noticed a pixel at aprox (320,55) that seems to be saturating..........
thanks for the kind words guys... though after seeing Dennis's gems from last night I'm kicking myself for not going again, mind you I've only just now cleared space for another avi on the drive anyway.
You're right DP, I had a look at last years Jupiters (of which I was very proud back then) - I'll have to do a then and now to fully appreciate.
