Merope Reflection Nebula and a little IC349

New image coming with new moon.... this is the region around the Merope star, ones of the Pleiadi cluster. Near the star lives the IC349 object, see the BW crop at 0.76"/px ... its very small.

I hope you like it:

All the best,

That's a very crisp picture. I was checking your website. I used to go on ski holidays in Sestrieres as a kid in the 70s. I recognised a few places in your gallery. Beautiful part of the world.

A wonderful image Leo.

The nebula looks like a painted watercolour.

Stunning work Leo. Reminds me of one of those "alternative" fake Christmas trees with the blue tinsel foliage and good balls hanging on it. Beautiful.

Cheers,
Cam

Top image here Leo!
Always loved the Merope nebula... well, cause it is a reflection neb after all!
Man those secondary spikes are so sharp they could cut you to pieces

At these FL you've handled the stars very well and your colours are very well balanced.

Lovely job all 'round!

All the best
Rich

Well there's your gold star , APOD make the odd strange choice at times (like yesterdays Rosette ) but mostly the images are World Class...and this is one of'em

I wanted to thank you for your comments. I'm really glad you enjoyed the photo. I am also very pleased to have received this publication as APOD. For me both the awards are much appreciated. What matters is to have shared my / our passion.

Greetings from a really frozen Italy ...
Leo
