Finally

I would be the one who is responsible for the bad weather in the Canberra region. (sorry about that)

It's here, the gear I ordered 7 months ago has finally arrived.

I must say the build quality of the MX and the CDK are brilliant. When you open up the box and see them for the first time, you immediately know that you have made the right decision. The Televue eye pieces are beautiful, what huge pieces of glass.

It's a coincidence that the CDK has serial number of 76 and the MX 77. (Might be a good omen )

Now all I have to do is build a base for a pier and I might get to use it in a week or so.

Cheers
Phil

It would be great to put both our systems side by side one day for a visual comparison.

The CDK looks like a great instrument and I am sure that there are a few Mewlon 300 owners that would be interested in the comparison and potentially changing across (especially to the CDK17).

I think you'd better come over and try it out on my pier while you built yours. Of course there'd be no rush for you to complete yours. Just another friendly IIS offer.....

I will eventually make an observatory to house it in. I am in the process of making a pier footing.
I also ordered the SB tripod but that is not ready until march. I want to have it as a portable setup as well.

Cheers
