Update on damn bad flash!! Help kind of still needed

Refering to my earlier thread I managed to re-flash the Autostar on the ETX125. The problem is that the second row of the LCD display doesn't display. Now it is probably (in fact I know) that the hand controller has been dropped a few times on the ground. Therefore: (a) would a re-flash possible fix this up; or (b) a re-flash will not help and it is likely that your Autostar controller is buggerred a bit and needs replacing; or (c) something else somehere might know of. My major concern is if the controller needs replacing, does the whole motor part need replacing on the mount? By that, if it is a bad flash that has screwed everything up, if the flash memory kept in the controller or in the base mount? I hope it is the controller, as this appears to be easy to replace . Your comments appreciated.

If it has been dropped on any hard surface, the chances are that the display & it's 'polymer'? connection material, has been dislodged. Maybe take apart n check/reposition?? L.

There may be an issue with the version you have flashed in to the handbox. Was the display working correctly before the update and what version did you flash in to the handbox???

No the controller was corrupted before hand as a result of a bad flash. Before the bad flash though it was working fine. Did get dropped once or twice after the bad flash (no I did not throw it down in frustration!!)

I've spent most of the time that I have had my LX90 trying to get a bug free handbox software build. I currently have version 40ff with D1ck Seymore's patch and have no problems. I suggest trying that version (as it's OK on mine) to see if your problems disappear. All old versions are available at http://www.weasner.com/etx/autostar/...downloads.html Make sure you check your handbox type before reloading and that you have a correct build for your handbox type. Also make sure you have the latest download software (V4.2) which is also on Weasners site. Once you have finished, reset the handbox, recalibrate and retrain. Hopefully your problem is software related.
