M1 from TenChain

M1 on a rare night of decent seeing at TenChain Hill. This S2 (40mns), Ha (50mns), O3 (40 mns) at FL of 3900 (EdgeHD 14" at F11) with ATIK 11002M (Bin x 2).
OAG is the secret to the guiding at this FL and I'm very pleased with these results.

A great photo Peter.

I don't see many shots of the Crab Nebula.

Very nice!

Are the green halos around some of the stars registration errors?

That's an impressive result Peter. Lot's of fine detail apparent.

Cheers

So pretty!
Though I find the back ground to be rather blue on this one.

You really do have some nice data Peter. I just wish now we'd spent a bit less time on software and sucked down some more photons. Hope you don't mind me posting my first effort of the data here too. Discovering rapidly how clueless I am in the NB universe (but determined to revisit and try variations)

Never dreamt in my wildest dreams I'd ever be glimsing this far into this old supernova remnant. It really does stand up incredibly well against world class images from big scopes taken last decade

I'm happy to be corrected on this, but I believe the central star (pulsar and supernova remnant) is visible too - the fainter star on right the arrow is pointing to. Apparent magnitude 16.5

Rob, that's streets ahead of my efforts at processing the data. But as I have repeatedly said, my processing knowledge is only exceeded by my grasp of cold fusion and the mating rituals of the Anasazi indians.
I will keep playing with it and if the opportunitty arises to grab some more data, will do so.
Jusr as well this scope/camera seems to be working - the SX gear on the other mount is proving to be a costly waste so far.

Hi David. The short answer is "I don't know'. It seems to be a difference between the Ha and O3 frames but it isn't uniform across the whole image - or at least not to that degree. I've been playing around with it but haven't got an answer yet. All suggestions welcome.
Peter
