Binoviewer Question

l am l right in assuming that a binoviewer halves the focal length of the scope.
eg: f/10 fitted with binoviewer becomes f/5?

Nope. It's just a beam splitter, so no effect on f ratio. Half the light goes to one eye, half to the other.
