My first timelapse

First post here. Not very original but you need to walk before running so it's a dry run until I try to do the same under the stars.

Shot that through my window with a Pentax *istD this arvo. They're 250ms to 500ms exposures at F8 with a 20mm lens.

It was good to work out all the bugs, download times, etc... I power the DSLR from the main and also dump all the raw files directly to the laptop. The sequences were set with a Canon remote controller TC-80N3 that I hacked to work with the Pentax *istD. I used that camera way back to take astrophotos before I got a cooled CCD.

Finally converted all the PEF (pentax raw files) to TIFF with CS5 Image processor using Camera Raw 4 then loaded then in Premiere and exported to FL4 prior to build the page in Flash Catalyst.

Let me know how it loads for you guys. It's only 4MB and should stream rasonalbly well on all platforms. If it works fine I'll do my other time-lapses this way too.

Very cool, Marc.

Reminds me of something I'd see in an indie music video or something.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like the format is working so I'll process it this way.

I know Baz. I always wanted to do some of these. I should do my first under dark skies this long week-end.

Thanks mate. Might not happen as soon as I anticipated. Having little problems with sub download times both on laptop or even onboard memory card. Trying to minimise that. My 2.0GB sandisk is from 2004 Hopefully the technology is faster now. Currently it takes a good 30x to download and save each sub right now. At that rate I won't beat sunrise...

Here's one I cooked earlier the night before. I put it together the same way so you guys should be able to view it the same. You can see why I exclusively do narrowband from home now. The sky gets lighter at night than daytime.
